When I was approached to shoot Mengyi & Yu's Chinese wedding at the spectacular medieval Warwick castle in Warwickshire I jumped at the chance! I've shot Chinese weddings before but never at a castle so how could I resist this cool combination! The day started with bride and groom prep. I first met Mengyi and her mum in the hotel for hair and makeup. Yu was also getting ready in another room downstairs with his parents so I went from one to the other snapping as I went! Once the final touches were finished including an important necklace for Mengyi we made our way to the castle for the ceremony. Despite the grand hall being pretty dark it was perfect for atmospheric images. Thankfully my Nikon D750s have awesome low light capabilities ( all hail Nikon! ) The ceremony contained elements of Chinese tradition such as the passing of the rings between the guests, tea making and lighting of candles. After the ceremony we made our way outside for some pictures where we had fun exploring the grounds before dinner was served in the magnificent dining room! It was certainly a unique and memorable wedding day!
