I recently had the opportunity to photograph Nigel Farage, leader of the UKIP party. He may divide opinion but his facial expressions certainly make for great photos!
Kev Brady - Swimming the length of the River Severn - Britains longest river!
This challenge is not for the faint hearted. I can swim reasonably well but my hat is certainly taken off to Kev Brady who decided to swim the length of Britains longest river, the River Severn in Gloucestershire for charity. This extraordinary swim will take Kev approximately 220 miles and many weeks to finish in freeing cold waters!
Steve Meredith - Bodyguard to the Stars
Portraits of Gloucestershires bodyguard to the stars Steve Meredith.
Jack Butland - England International Footballer
Jack Butland made his competitive debut tonight for England in Lithuania. The occasion reminded me of the time I photographed him while he was on loan at Cheltenham Town a couple of years ago. He had a confidence and presence about him back then and has certainly lived up to many peoples high expectations. He is now Stoke Citys number one between the sticks and will fight Joe Hart all the way for the England goalkeepers position.
Kevin Keegan - Football Legend
I recently photographed the former Liverpool, Newcastle and England football legend Kevin Keegan. I had in mind the exact type of shot I wanted, outside in the grounds of the lovely hotel. The only problem was the light..or lack of it as it was fading fast! By the time Kevin arrived my best laid plans had to change as it was pretty much black! I ended up shooting him against this wall and powering up the flash to give a nice punchy image.

National Wedding Show
Last weekend I had a brilliant time exhibiting at the National Wedding Show which was held at the Birmingham NEC. It was a full on busy event running from Friday to Sunday with loads of amazing suppliers.
I want to say a big thank you to all the amazing couples who came along and showed interest in my photography. Hopefully I will see you all again soon on your big day :-)
Cheltenham MP Alex Chalk at Home
I was recently commissioned to photograph Cheltenham MP Alex Chalk at his home in Cheltenham. The shoot was very informal with the aim to capture Alex away from the political arena. I have photographed Alex many times over the past couple of years, while he was campaigning to become Cheltenham MP and now in his current role. I only had about twenty minutes to get as many different shots as possible, so not the easiest of tasks when dealing with small children!
Award Winning Bus Driver
I was recently commissioned to photograph a bus driver who had won an award. I was asked for a simple upper torso portrait with the bus in the background, well done Ben :-)
Wedding Boot-eek at the Tythe Barn, Bishops Cleeve
Here are a few snaps from yesterdays wedding boot-eek at the Tythe Barn in Bishops Cleeve. It was a great event hosted by Positively Perfect with lots of happy couples to chat to and amazing suppliers to share ideas with, looking forward to the next one! #weddings #weddyfayre #cheltenham #photography
VJ DAY
I always feel honoured and privileged to photograph the men and woman who bravely fought in the First and Second World Wars. Last Friday was VJ Day which marked the end of the Second World War. I was lucky enough to photograph the service at the Gloucester War memorial by the Burma Star Association. There were only five Burma veterans at the service, which may well be the Associations last as they have so few members left.
Prince Charles
Photographed the graduation ceremony of the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester today. The Prince of Wales has been president of the RAU since 1982 and was at the ceremony to congratulate the students. He was in good spirits and made for some nice photos.
Chris & Charlie
On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Chris & Charlie tie the knot at the amazing Iscoyd Park in Shropshire. My brief was to snap the groom and his band of merry men getting ready at a nearby hotel before heading over to the venue where I would meet up with friend and fellow photographer Ed Godden to capture the rest of the day. Great couple, great venue, great wedding! Here's a small selection of shots from the day. :-)
The Rugby World Cup - Webb Ellis Trophy
If you're a rugby fan I'm sure you will be eagerly looking forward to the rugby world cup in just a few months time. One of the locations the teams will be playing is Gloucester. To promote this and to generate publicity the Web Ellis trophy is on a Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour of the UK! Today it visited The Soldiers of Gloucester museum in the heart of the city. The event created a great deal of amazement and excitement as shown by this young boy! :-)
Wedding in the Forest!
Last week I had a first, the first time I have ever photographed a wedding....in the forest! Yep it wasn't your normal wedding location but it was certainly very very unique :-) The wedding of Richard & Catherine was at the 2000 trees festival, on the forest sessions stage. As avid festival goers the 2000 trees festival has great memories for the couple. It was at the forest sessions stage where Richard proposed to Catherine one year ago so it made for a very fitting venue to hold the ceremony!
HRH Princess Anne
I recently had another opportunity to photograph HRH Princess Anne. On this occasion she was visiting Riding for the Disabled in Cheltenham. The kids showed off their riding skills before receiving a rosette from the horse loving Princess. Apart from the usual set of pics I quite liked this quirky image of HRH looking somewhat distracted when meeting two of the volunteers.
Press Portrait
Had fun on a nice little press job for a national newspaper today. I was delighted to be commissioned to take a few portraits of a head-teacher to go with an article about recruiting teachers. I kept things simple with just one off camera speed-light to compliment the nice ambient light, here's a few examples from the shoot.
Sunny Leicestershire Wedding
Last Saturday I helped out a good friend photograph a wedding in Leicestershire. I acted as his second shooter for the day, which was a first for me. The location was amazing with an incredibly picturesque lake and rolling hills at the bottom of the converted old barn. A dream for a photographer with lots of nooks and crannies to explore :-) It was made even better as the bride & groom were so chilled out and fun. Here's a small selection from the day :-)
