Intimate Micro Wedding in the Cotswold Village of Stanton
Thank you! The photos are so lovely! We're thrilled
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Eve & Matt get hitched in the stunning Cotswolds village of Stanton. The ceremony took place at St Michael and All Angels church before a short walk across the road to Matts parents house for the wedding reception. With the world turned upside down amid the Covid19 pandemic resulting in wedding numbers being restricted to just a handful, this didn’t deter Eve & Matt and they pressed ahead to make their special day happen! To many couples the thought of changing their wedding plans is not something they care to contemplate and instead opt to postpone the date, which I completely understand. For other couples they choose to go ahead with a smaller wedding ceremony and instead postpone their big party to next year.
Smaller weddings consisting of less than 30 people are often known as micro weddings. In my opinion there’s something uniquely magical about such a small number of people attending that everything becomes more focused and intimate. Weddings are often a whirlwind and fly by in an instant so with less people means more quality spent with each guest.
My day started with meeting Eve in her Air b&b in Broadway which is just a short drive from Stanton and equally as picturesque. Eves parents and brother were also there getting ready and helping to calm any nerves. I then hopped in my car and drove the short distance to Stanton to the amazing St Michael and All Angels church. One thing I noticed wearing a face mask whilst photographing inside is that it gets very warm and the viewfinder is constantly misting up, maybe I need to invent a new face mask for photography! After the ceremony we took a nice shots with the lovely Cotswolds stone houses as backdrops before walking across the road to Matts parents house. The garden was beautiful with a small pond situated at the bottom of the garden. The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxed that I was determined to use every inch of the garden for pictures, even the greenhouse which took some people by surprise! :-)
It was a wonderful wedding day and I would thoroughly recommend micro weddings to any couples who are still determined to get hitched!
Rustic outdoor wedding at Temple Guiting Manor & Barns in the Cotswolds
I love photographing weddings in the glorious Cotswolds countryside with the beautiful rolling hills and quintessential English cottages. This is the charm that enticed Kristen and Hugo to travel from the United Sates of America to tie the knot at Temple Guiting Manor & Barns located in the heart of the Cotswolds. The wedding day was intimate, private and full of love, dancing and laughs!
With just 25 guests attending the celebration and all staying on site in the various incredible accommodation suites the atmosphere was incredibly relaxed and easy going, perfect for my style of documentary wedding photography The service was held outside at one end of the tranquil pond in the immaculately presented gardens..wow..it looked incredible especially with the beautifully presented flowers by Amamini Flowers! The evening was dancing, dancing and more dancing followed by a sit down meal in the main house surrounded by coats of armour and medieval paintings. As a wedding photographer I’m so so lucky and consider it a privilege to be invited to such important and beautiful occasions!
Mengyi & Yu - Asian Engagement Shoot in Cheltenham the heart of the Cotswolds
It was fab to meet up with the lovely Mengyi & Yu for their asian engagement shoot in Cheltenham. We chose the majestic Pittville pump rooms to start the shoot and made our way around Pittville lake before heading up to Leckhampton Hill to take in some great landscape views across Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Mengyi came prepared with two traditional Asian dresses as it's a very important Chinese tradition. I can't wait to shoot their wedding at the amazing Warwick castle in a couple of months time!
Emma & Marks Spring Pre Wedding Shoot at Crickley Hill in the Cotswolds
" They are AMAZING! Thank you so much, we absolutely love them and its incredible how quickly you had them edited and ready to go. Really looking forward to the day, thanks again for yesterday we both feel so much more relaxed now" Emma & Mark
Loved meeting up with Emma & Mark this weekend at Crickley Hill in the Cotswolds. It's a great location for couples to have a leisurely stroll and take in the amazing views across Gloucestershire including the Malvern Hills in the distance. It's also perfect if you're slightly nervous about having your picture taken as it's never too busy and includes loads of locations for cool pictures. I'm really looking forward to shooting Emma & Marks wedding this summer in beautiful Bath. I started my photographic career at the Bath Chronicle newspaper many years ago so the place holds many fond memories!
Anjna & Robbie - Sunset Pre Wedding Shoot at Crickley Hill Country Park in the Cotswolds
I was hoping for great weather on Anjna & Robbies pre wedding shoot and boy did we get it! The location was Crickley Hill Country Park on the edge of Cheltenham and in the heart of the Cotswolds. Having moved the start time slightly earlier to 4.30pm I really wanted to capture the sunset and knew we would have great views on top of the hill. My first shot of the session was probably my favourite! The rich warm light casts a magical glow across the whole image as the pathway leads your eye up to Anjna & Robbie gazing out towards the spectacular Malvern Hills and their future together!
Becky & Daff Pre Wedding Shoot In The Heart of the Cotswolds
"The photos are fantastic!!!! Loved the colours and how you managed to find some stormy skies too! Thanks for editing them so quickly. Now we will just have the hard decision on which photos go on the invites!!" - Becky & Daff
Last weekend I hooked up with Becky & Daff for their pre wedding shoot. We decided on Leckhampton Hill in the heart of the gorgeous Cotswolds countryside! The views from the top of the hill are incredible and if you haven't been I would thoroughly recommend a visit. We parked in a quarry car park which offered countless photo opportunities that I couldn't resist. It did mean scrambling up and down rock faces which Becky was totally up for! These are the brides I love, willing to go the extra mile for a great picture!
Whether you've just become engaged or have been engaged for a while I would always recommend a pre wedding shoot before the big day arrives. It's a great way to put you at ease and give you an idea what your wedding day photography will be like! Cant wait to shoot Becky & Daffs wedding this summer!!
Lydia & Ed on their colourful autumn engagement shoot in the cotswolds
Autumn is my favourite time of the year to photograph happy couples! The colours and tones are incredible and you can't beat wrapping up in a wooly hat and gloves! A few weeks ago I spent a fun couple of hours with Lydia and Ed in the medieval town of Tewkesbury situated in the Cotswolds. My pre wedding and engagement shoots are brilliant at showing couples how I shoot and what their wedding day photography will be like. This awesome twosome were so chilled out and happy to go with the flow it made for some awesome pictures! I'm really looking forward to shooting their big day next year!!
Katie & Dan tie the knot at Caswell House, Cotswolds, Oxfordshire
Caswell House is a beautiful historic 15th century manor house with stunning medieval barns set in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. It proved to be the ideal venue for Katie and Dan to tie the knot in front of their friends and family. The whole day was spent at the venue from bridal and groom prep through to the crazy dancing in the evening. Autumn is a fantastic time of year and I was easily able to find some great backdrops for some cool shots. It was a truly awesome wedding made even better by a super friendly couple and great guests!
Kylie & Matt - Autumn pre wedding shoot in the Cotswolds
Autumn is my favourite time of year to shoot so I was excited to meet up with Kylie & Matt for their pre wedding shoot in Cheltenham. The town is known as the heart of the Cotswolds and you can see why. The light was on awesome on Sunday, so warm and rich making for great natural pictures! It also helped that Kylie & Matt were so friendly and chilled out! Cant wait to shoot their wedding next year! :-)
